Free Activities for Families and Teens in Barrie

May it be an intense game of one-on-one, a competitive round of twenty-one, a fun round of “around the world” or a family match, our Barrie waterfront install will provide hours of free basketball play for the entire family!

The fun doesn’t stop there as we’ve seen teens play some mini matches as well as friends come together and create tournament days so exciting, crowds form!

And if that isn’t enough, local fitness trainers have been using the court for their one on one workout sessions.

The City of Barrie already had two basketball courts available for free play at the waterfront. However, they had become quite weathered over the years and were not an inviting space to actually play the sport and therefore were often seen vacant. Their condition was also not suitable for safe play and that is when we were chosen to supply and install our Powergame Plus tile with security edging.

The first step in our process was to lay the vibrant blue and yellow tile over the polished concrete pad followed by painting bright red basketball lines. This bright colour combination caught attention and created an inviting space.

With safety in mind, we installed the aluminum security edging which created a smooth ramp like transition from tile to concrete preventing trips and falls.

In only two days we were able to install over 10,000 square feet of tile and paint two basketball courts which meant creating a safe and appealing area for people of all ages to play but also helped improve the aesthetic of that waterfront area of Centennial Beach.

It’s been so exciting to see all the action on the courts and we are looking forward to having more families come out and enjoy a beautiful scenery while making memories together.
